Our Journey

From Country to Consultancy — A Journey of Purpose and Partnership

Planzz Australia was born from lived experience and a deep commitment to creating systems that empower First Nations people and communities. Founded by Ramone Close, a proud Quandamooka (Goenpul), Githabul, and Butchulla man, Planzz began as a vision shaped by decades of navigating government systems, business development, and Indigenous engagement firsthand.

Ramone’s journey started on the sporting field, where he led national Indigenous football initiatives that connected youth in remote communities with pathways in education, health, and elite sport. From the GOORI Foundation to national championships, he saw the potential in young people—and the systemic barriers that stood in their way.

This drive to break down barriers extended beyond sport. Through the creation of WePlenty, a First Nations B2B procurement marketplace, Ramone tackled the challenges Indigenous businesses face in accessing corporate and government supply chains. But the more he worked with clients, the clearer it became: strategy without support leads nowhere.

That insight sparked the next evolution—Planzz Australia.

Planzz exists to close the gap between policy and practice.

We are a First Nations-led management consultancy that doesn't just advise—we walk alongside our clients. Whether it's co-designing Aboriginal Participation Plans, implementing Reconciliation Action Plans (RAPs), auditing Indigenous procurement frameworks, or delivering cultural capability training, we provide practical, on-the-ground expertise to ensure plans lead to real outcomes.

We believe economic empowerment, cultural integrity, and strategic execution are not mutually exclusive—they are essential partners. Our journey continues with every community we serve, every business we support, and every barrier we help remove.

This is not just our story—it’s a collective journey of systems change, built with Country at the centre and impact as the destination.
